As my next lesson nears this weekend and we’ve already discussed starting small jumps, I decided that I needed to do some homework so to speak. So, I went to the bookshelf and pulled out Winning: A Training and Showing Guide for Hunter Seat Riders. I bought the book for my English Riding class in college and it’s an excellent resource for riders. I also got on my Kindle and found The Complete Guide to Hunter Seat: Training, Showing and Judging. Hopefully by Sunday, I’ll be ready to implement some of this information.
Since I’ve been back to riding, I’ve found that my brain knows what to do, but translating that into body position and getting my coordination back has been a bit of a challenge. While it pours down rain here today, I might have a chance to do a little more studying and hopefully we won’t be rained out this weekend!
